Civitans PPartyAccording to Feeding America, 8,690 children in Rowan County were food insecure in 2013. Children who face chronic hunger are more likely to have poor health, social skills, academic performance, and negative self-image. By supporting FFT, you can make a difference for these children and help them reach their full potential. Your support also shows the children we serve that they are valued by their community. One participating student at Southeast Middle School seemed to fully grasp this concept. In response to the end-of-year survey question, "What do you like best about Food for Thought?" the student replied, "Giving people food that don't have much; I think that's really caring for people."

Here are a few of the ways you can make a difference:
• Donate money:
     $3 provides one child food for a day
     $6 feeds one child for a weekend
     $25 supports one child for a month
     $250 provides one child weekend meals for an entire school year
• Pack bags at packing parties

Checks can be made to Food for Thought" and sent to our office at St. Luke's Episcopal Church. Food for Thought is a certified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
